This kitchen was completely remodeled. We replaced a long, awkwardly placed center island and a deep black/forest green color scheme with a wonderful, big center island and a soft and breezy color scheme. The original dark color scheme gave way to a coastal inspired beach style kitchen that is much more fitting to the location of the house. The island now serves as a center hub; it is a great place to gather. Also, the large counter provides ample space for cooking projects and other activities.
White shaker cabinets paired with a white quartz counter create the background for this peaceful space. The soft blue/grey colored island adds a breezy accent and complements the beautiful , translucent glass tile backsplash. The medium color maple wood floors ground the color scheme and provide the warm feel reminiscent of summer sand at the beach. The kitchen flows into the breakfast area, and the serving counter offers ample counter space for serving trays and dishes. As a special perk, it also houses a warming drawer that conveniently keeps the dishes warm before serving.
The island is the hub of the kitchen. It offers ample storage and a great seating area to do homework, eat a snack or just chat with the cook. A fun feature in the island is the clear ice maker, providing instant ice cubes for a cool drink on a hot summer day.
The big stainless steel stove provides the balance to the island and the industrial pendants provide plenty of light for tasks at the island. The soft, clear-blue backsplash creates a relaxing atmosphere, inviting the beach vibe into the home.
Overall, the kitchen provides a sense of tranquility and a sense of calm. Pristine white paired with soft translucent blues and off set by warm wood tones reminisce of a day at the beach. This kitchen invites conversation and fun and friendly social gatherings. It is all about the relaxed at home family vibe.
